The Secret Formula is a place where I share my way to incorporate healthy, tasty, real food and conscious nutrition in everyday life.
I use – almost exclusively – organic, wholegrain, local (Southern India), seasonal and mostly plant-based ingredients, which are vegetarian, often vegan and/or gluten-free, with minimal or no fat, no refined sugar, using healthy cooking methods.
The recipes here reflect all those things.
Though I lean towards Indian vegetarian cuisine (especially from Uttar Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh), both traditional and adapted versions, because I want to document the best of these from our personal family traditions, there are a significant number of international dishes too, including many of our favorites, and new spin-offs.
With two involved kids, ever-interested in “what’s cooking”, a lot of activity in the kitchen is child-centric, creative, inventive, fun, – and happily enough, at times child-initiated and conducted (complete with toys among the props).
